I recently went to New York City for a solo trip. The last few times were with my family. Both times I had a lot of fun and saw a lot of things but both were very different. One thing that I did while traveling solo is a tour with Free Tours By Foot.
Free Tours by Foot is the original pay-what-you-like tours of some of America’s best cities. They have them in New York, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, New Orleans and Philadelphia to name a few. They are also in some European countries, too!
They provide a platform for licensed, local, freelance tour guides to lead tours at no upfront costs, so that you can enjoy an interesting sightseeing tour for whatever price you like, even free. You get to determine what a tour was worth, if anything, after the tour, thus ensuring that your tour guide must strive to give his or her best on every tour.
They are more than just guided walking tours. They also offer expert advice from local guides to help you plan your trip. Use their Free Tours by Foot blog home page to get the most information on how to get tickets, use public transportation, where to stay and more during your visit.
Most tours are about 2 hours long. I chose to do one a little bit longer, at 3 hours. Our tour covered the Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo. My tour guide, Dante was excellent. Could not have asked for a better tour! Hope you enjoy the pics from the tour. Be sure to check out Free Tours by Foot on your next trip!
